p:redictions and r:esults | quarterfinals
It’s always fun to peruse the fixtures and sort them into two categories, those with one player clearly being expected to win and those, where I have no clue and for which the words ‘could go either way’ are the best way to describe.

- [1] Barty vs [21] Pegula | 62 60
c:ould go either way
- Keys vs [4] Krejcikova | 63 62
- [27] Collins vs Cornet | 75 61
- [7] Swiatek vs Kanepi | 46 762 63
Well, at least I was right with expecting a tough one between Swiatek and Kanepi. In the Aussie heat the fitness of youth eventually prevails over this 36-yo Estonian campaigner, who performed stunningly well again today. The last point won in an absolutely lunatic rally.
P.S.: Didn’t watch much of the men’s action this year. But Medvedev vs Auger-Aliassime is a tidbit.
