I wish I was a more courageous person. Yet as I am not there have been only a few attempts with deliberately chosen slow shutter speed. I like the lyricism of those blurry results so much, that sometimes (and in the future perhaps more often) I approach that fairyland via post-production. Doing it while shooting leaves no options. It’s just what it is. That’s why I shied away from it on most of the occasions. Here it’s Viktorija Golubic, who had an amazing winning streak that year in Linz, defeating Siegemund, Goerges, Muguruza and Keys only to succumb Cibulkova in the final. It was October 2016 and after working with badges at several ITF tournaments this was the first event on WTA level where I dared to apply for an accreditation, successfully thanks to the visionary hospitality of chief press officer Hans Adrowitzer, who seemed to have recognized some value in my photographic attempts even if both image manipulation and online presentation were far from being as clear as they fortunately are now.
