Western & Southern Open 2023, Cincinnati, women’s final – What a path for both players, with Gauff defeating Swiatek and Muchova putting the Belarusian squaller in her place. WTA-TV is kind enough to allow their subscribers to follow the live action from the eighth game on. Normally they are doing a good job, but this was a veritable nuisance, particularly as both women are in the exquisit group of players I like without fuss or quibble. I guess that I am with Coco here. What a joy it would be for her to win this WTA1000 event on home soil…
