Australian Open ’24 – day 3
Melbourne Q2 – Seidel profits from a retirement of her opponent Jones at 63 675 44. Lys beats Bara by 61 62. Despite the clear result a match with many tight rallies. Renata Zarazua is for Mexico what Jule Niemeier is for Germany, a great white hope. Renata is not as physically strong as her opponent, her remarkable skills obviously made the difference today by a whisker, 64 57 769. Wasn’t able to watch the match due to sudden streaming issues at discovery+. Hugs and kisses to all them arrogant, chauvinistic and dilettante monopolists out there!
Adelaide QF – Siegemund gets a walkover by Kasatkina. I send my best get-well-wishes to that pure-hearted Russian player who definitely owns a permanent berth in my all-time top 10 sympathy list.
OOPS. Just mistook it. It’s Kasatkina who gets the walkover, not Siegemund. So my get-well wishes go to the German and my fingers are crossed for the Russian in her Adelaide semifinal against mighty Pegula.
